Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Operations Supervisor / Site Lead

Position Overview

Six Maritime is seeking qualified Waterborne Security Officers to support maritime security operations in and around ports, shipyards, and critical maritime infrastructure. This role involves conducting security patrols from small vessels, maintaining situational awareness on the water, and ensuring compliance with applicable security plans and regulations.

Waterborne Security Officers play a critical role in protecting vessels, facilities, and personnel operating in the maritime domain.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct waterborne security patrols in designated security zones
  • Monitor vessel traffic and identify suspicious or non-compliant activity
  • Enforce access control and exclusion zones from the water
  • Maintain communication with shoreside security teams, vessel crews, and supervisors
  • Operate small boats safely in varying weather and sea conditions
  • Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and other required documentation
  • Support emergency response actions as directed
  • Comply with all company policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and fitness-for-duty requirements
  • Strong communication and situational awareness skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Comfortable working in a maritime environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior maritime security, military, law enforcement, or Coast Guard experience
  • Small boat handling experience
  • Current first aid, CPR, or lifesaving certifications
  • TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
  • Previous work in ports, shipyards, or industrial waterfront facilities

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, and move for extended periods
  • Ability to board and disembark small vessels
  • Ability to lift and carry moderate weight as needed
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
