This position is designed for individuals who excel at working with young people and perform best in dynamic settings. At Unbound Academy's fully virtual, tuition-free charter school, students advance rapidly through their academic work using AI-powered tools, then dedicate the remainder of their day to live, interactive workshops centered on life skills, teamwork, and personal growth. Your responsibility is to ensure these experiences run seamlessly and feel meaningful to students.

You'll serve as the essential link that holds the experience together. You'll facilitate transitions, assist small groups, maintain high energy, and intervene when a student requires guidance or reassurance. You won't deliver academic instruction—but the experience cannot succeed without you.

What You Will Be Doing

• Facilitating live virtual workshops by coordinating breakout rooms, managing transitions, overseeing pacing, and maintaining group flow
• Promoting active participation through chat engagement, affirmations, gentle prompts, and individual student outreach
• Keeping students engaged, confident, and connected across the full learning day
• Supporting lead educators with operational logistics that ensure sessions proceed without disruption
• Serving as a reliable, familiar presence across student clubs and life-skills programming

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Delivering academic instruction or teaching subject-area content
• Developing lesson plans, grading assignments, or conducting academic assessments
• Designing curriculum or facilitating workshops on your own
• Taking a passive or observational approach—this is a hands-on, high-energy position

Virtual Learning Assistant Key Responsibilities

Facilitate dynamic, virtual learning environments by ensuring students stay engaged, organized, and motivated throughout every workshop session.

Basic Requirements

• Available to start immediately or at the end of July (one of the two).
• At least 1 years of experience mentoring, coaching, tutoring, or leading youth
• Educational background within U.S., Canadian, or U.K. school systems (K–16); must have attended school in one of these countries
• Energizing, student-first presence with strong attention to detail
• Willing to work in a hybrid role in Arizona.

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $20 USD/hour, which equates to $40,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
