Your impact

We’re seeking a Senior Hawaii Water Project Manager to support delivering world-class water and wastewater services for our municipal and private sector clients in Hawaii.  

As a Hawaii Water Project Manager, you will work in collaboration with our Hawaii leadership team, Northwest Water Growth Director, and Water Director of Operations to develop and implement a water growth strategy for Hawaii. This effort includes retaining and building a team of engineers and planners to deliver our clients’ most challenging water and wastewater projects and to foster the growth of our Hawaii water team. You will also be responsible for understanding the unique trends in the and using that knowledge to work with our team to create technical differentiation from that of our competitors while serving as an important conduit between our Global Solutions (technology) Leaders, Northwest Sales Leaders, and Operations (delivery) leadership and practice staff in our Water Business Unit.  

We’ll also rely on you to lead and support business development activities with key clients resulting in acquisition of new projects as well as perform the role of Project Manager supporting various projects and programs within a defined client portfolio. You’ll effectively lead and manage project teams throughout all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout; consistent with established project delivery processes to meet the scope, schedule, budget, and other specified requirements stated in each contract.   

As a key member, you’ll have the chance to work on challenging projects as the Project Manager and Technical Lead – planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of projects with high degrees of technical complexity from (but not limited to) the concept stage through detailed design, construction services, and commissioning. Among the many types of projects led by this team are pipelines, pump stations, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and water resources infrastructure. You will be leading a multidiscipline team to complete tasks within established schedules and budgets and help advance our business development strategies. Also, you will have the opportunity to mentor and coach early and mid-career engineers and designers and to be mentored by senior staff. Nurturing your existing and developing new relationships, you will help to identify new opportunities in which Jacobs Hawaii can further service our clients and communities.   

Using your technical expertise, you’ll play an integral role in leading and mentoring staff, forming long-term relationships with clients and pursuing new work, including strategy development, positioning, proposing, and negotiating contracts. Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering   
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in direct management of project teams   
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.)  License in Hawaii or ability to obtain in 6 months   
  • Proven experience in planning and designing small to large projects    

Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have:   

  • Proven experience managing teams of design, scientific, and technology professionals   
  • Strong network with local municipalities, private utilities, and other water/wastewater, conveyance, and water resources clients in Hawaii   
  • Active in a professional organization   
  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

Posted Salary Range: Minimum

144,600.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

226,000.00

And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock.

The base salary range for this position is $144,600.00 to $226,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
