About the Role We are seeking a Telecom ISP Modem Conversion Coordinator to support a large, nationwide residential property management organization undergoing a major network modernization effort. This role will manage the full lifecycle of ISP modem conversions across multiple remote sites, serving as the driving force behind planning, scheduling, coordination, execution, and validation activities.
The ideal candidate brings strong operational discipline, clear communication skills, and hands-on experience coordinating network or ISP-related deployments across distributed locations.
Job Description As the Telecom ISP Modem Conversion Coordinator, you will oversee modem swap and cutover activities from start to finish. You will partner closely with ISPs, internal network engineering teams, local site contacts, and third-party vendors to ensure smooth migrations with minimal service impact.
Key responsibilities include: Planning & Readiness - Organize and batch all locations scheduled for ISP modem conversions.
- Validate technical prerequisites (e.g., DHCP vs. static configurations).
- Maintain a standardized project plan including repeatable steps and rollback procedures.
Coordination & Scheduling - Serve as the primary point of contact for ISPs and onsite personnel.
- Determine migration batches based on serviceability and ISP capabilities.
- Present serviceability options to leadership for vendor and speed-tier decisions.
- Schedule onsite resources and coordinate availability.
- Communicate cutover plans, timelines, and impacts; send reminders and day-of updates.
Execution - Lead day-of cutover activities, including prechecks and onsite coordination.
- Oversee physical modem swaps and validate handoff/configuration.
- Conduct throughput testing to confirm performance and internet reachability.
- Validate billing transitions following migration.
- Coordinate return/decommissioning of legacy equipment and verify billing disconnect.
Documentation - Update project trackers and internal databases (dates, ISP provider, modem serials/MACs, contracted speeds).
- Close associated tickets and attach evidence of successful cutovers (screenshots, logs).
Risk & Issue Management - Identify risks (e.g., ISP lead time constraints) and maintain a risk log.
- Escalate issues to ISP account teams and internal leadership as necessary.
Qualifications Required Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience in network operations, ISP provisioning, installation support, or field implementation coordination.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to lead remote cutover calls.
- Ability to translate complex technical changes into clear, straightforward guidance for non-technical site teams.
- Proficiency with ITSM/ticketing systems and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience coordinating multi-site network deployments or ISP migrations.
- Familiarity with property management or distributed retail/hospitality environments.
- Working knowledge of broadband technologies, modem parameters, and ISP handoff methods.
