Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Remote (Must be able to support EST Time zone)

Contract

Mandatory Skills: Project Management, PMP Certified, Healthcare Payer, Waterfall, Hybrid, Agile



Must Have Experience:

1. Healthcare Payer industry experience (claims, enrollment, provider management, utilization management, care management, regulatory programs, etc.)
2. Experience working in regulated healthcare environments with compliance driven timelines
3. Strong experience managing large, complex business and technology programs in a Waterfall environment
4. Experience managing multiple projects concurrently with interdependencies
5. End to end project lifecycle ownership (initiation through closure)
6. Experience working with Stakeholders & Multiple vendors managing Risk, managing expectations

Required Experience and Skills

Business & Domain Expertise

• 12+ years of professional experience delivering enterprise scale projects or programs , preferably within a healthcare payer organization
• Deep understanding of payer business processes , regulatory considerations, and operational drivers
• Ability to translate business strategy, regulatory needs, and operational goals into structured project and delivery plans
• Strong business acumen with experience managing executive level stakeholders

Project & Program Management

• Extensive experience in Program and Project Management , primarily Waterfall, with exposure to hybrid or Agile delivery models
• Proven ability to manage complex budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking
• Experience leading modernization and migration initiatives, including vendor led delivery models
• Strong risk, dependency, and issue management skills across multi vendor environments

Stakeholder & Leadership Skills

• Demonstrated success managing senior business stakeholders , technology leaders, and external vendors
• Strong negotiation, influence, and consensus building capabilities
• Ability to manage expectations, handle escalations, and drive decisions in ambiguous environments

Technology Awareness (Business Focused)

• Working knowledge of enterprise application landscapes and integration concepts
• Exposure to technologies such as .NET, Java, cloud platforms (e.g., Azure), and data platforms is beneficial but not hands on
• Ability to engage technology teams in outcome focused discussions without acting as a technical lead

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Delivery & Execution

• Translate business objectives into clear scope, milestones, success metrics, and project and delivery plans
• Ensure projects deliver measurable business outcomes , not just technical outputs

Stakeholder & Client Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders and executive sponsors
• Build strong relationships by understanding business needs, operational challenges, and regulatory drivers
• Proactively manage stakeholder expectations, risks, and escalations to successful resolution

Governance, Risk & Financial Management

• Establish and maintain strong project governance , reporting, and cadence
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across business, regulatory, vendor, and delivery dimensions
• Track budgets, forecasts, and financial performance; support funding and prioritization decisions

Cross Functional & Vendor Leadership

• Coordinate across business, IT, vendors, and consulting partners to ensure aligned execution
• Manage vendor performance, dependencies, and contractual expectations
• Collaborate with EPMO and leadership teams to ensure adherence to enterprise standards.
