Digital Coordinator – Media, Social & Community Engagement

Location:  Sarasota, FL

Pay: $20 - $23/hr. (DOE)

Schedule:  Part-time (20 - 30 hours/wk.) | Monday–Friday | Occasional evenings/weekends for event coverage and digital campaigns

Work Setting:  In-office with digital production responsibilities and collaboration across editorial, marketing, and operations teams. Some community event engagement may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of experience in digital marketing, social media management, or online publishing
• Strong knowledge of social media platforms, email marketing systems, and digital advertising
• Experience managing websites and uploading digital content
• Comfortable using AI tools and digital productivity platforms
• Excellent written communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

What You’ll Do

As a Digital Coordinator, you will support and execute digital media initiatives. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, tech-savvy professional who thrives in social media management, digital publishing, and content coordination within a community-focused media environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Create and distribute engaging social media posts across platforms
• Oversee list creation using AI tools (Best Seats, Events Calendar, Art Scene)
• Create, distribute, and manage e-newsletters (Local Scene, Weekend Scene)
• Develop and execute dedicated client e-blasts, including client communication and performance oversight
• Manage photo uploads (event images, naming conventions, descriptions, photography coordination)
• Oversee sponsored content and community article publishing
• Create and schedule digital banner advertisements
• Assist editorial team with digitized content management
• Support marketing initiatives and business development campaigns
• Manage digital distribution extensions for partner publications (Women on the Scene, Sarasota Opera Program, Scene Business)
• Create and execute social media campaigns promoting partner publications
• Develop campaigns highlighting partner publishing participants
• Provide editorial, marketing, and operational support
• Function as an execution specialist for cross-department digital initiatives
