Job Description

Since 2009, The Dorm has been a mission-driven, client-centered mental health organization that has been bringing comprehensive, evidence-based treatment to young adults, ages 18-30. We are looking for a passionate licensed clinical therapist to join our multidisciplinary Washington DC  team and contribute to our goal of making a difference. 

Our therapists offer one-on-one individual therapy, coaching, and group therapy to help clients explore recurring issues and life patterns that interfere with their ability to lead lives of independence, meaning, and purpose. Therapists at The Dorm are "generalists" comfortable working with young adults who have varied mental health issues at different levels of acuity.

What You Will Do: 

  • Provides individual, group and family therapy for The Dorm clients and family members, as applicable.
  • Provides life-skills coaching off-site in the community and in clients’ apartments as clinically indicated.
  • Conducts Bio-Psycho-Social Assessments and comprehensive intakes of all prospective clients.
  • Maintains accurate and up to date charts that are in compliance with the expectations and standards outlined in The Dorm’s Policy and Procedure manual.
  • Participates in weekly supervision, group supervision, and co-facilitator supervision as indicated by direct supervisor.
  • Responsible for at least 25 hours of clinical work per week.
  • Participates in On-Call weekly coverage system on a rotating basis up to four times per year. 
  • Work up to 2 evenings per week.

What You Need to Qualify: 

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling or related program in psychology required.
  • State Licensure in social work or counseling required.
  • The ideal candidate has at least 1-3 years of related experience in clinical setting with adolescents or young adults.
