MAU is hiring a CAD Designer for our client in Greenville, SC. As a CAD Designer, you will design, develop, and release production fixtures, tooling, and work-holding solutions to support safe, repeatable, and capable manufacturing processes.

Shift Information• Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Required Education and Experience• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience designing manufacturing fixtures or tooling in a production environment
• Strong proficiency in CAD software for solid modeling, assemblies, and drafting
• Working knowledge of machining processes (CNC milling, turning, grinding, EDM, etc.)
• Experience applying GD&T per ASME Y14.5
• Understanding of datum structures, part location principles, and tolerance stack ups
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Preferred Education and Experience• Strong proficiency in Siemens NX
• Experience designing fixtures for high precision or heavy industrial components
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and mistake proofing (poka yoke)
• Experience supporting fixture tryout and production launch activities
• Exposure to change management and engineering release processes
• Experience collaborating with suppliers on fixture fabrication
General Requirements• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Operations
• Ability to support production readiness timelines and industrialization efforts
• Strong attention to detail in maintaining CAD models, drawings, and BOMs
Essential Functions• Design manufacturing fixtures, tooling, and workholding solutions using Siemens NX, including 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings
• Develop fixture concepts supporting machining, inspection, assembly, and handling requirements
• Apply GD&T, datum schemes, and tolerance stack ups to ensure part location and repeatability
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Process Engineers, Quality, and Operators to define fixture requirements and design intent
• Support new equipment and process industrialization efforts aligned with production readiness timelines
• Perform design reviews and incorporate feedback from cross-functional stakeholders
• Release fixture designs through document control and change management systems
• Support fixture build, tryout, and buy-off activities, including troubleshooting and design revisions
• Interface with internal machine shops and external suppliers to clarify design intent and resolve manufacturing issues
• Ensure fixture designs meet safety, ergonomic, and shop floor usability standards
• Maintain accurate CAD models, drawings, and BOMs throughout the fixture lifecycle
